I turned my back on blogging a while ago, I just wasn’t feeling it and to be honest it was a pain in the ass! But now there are so many exciting things happening in the industry that I’m dying to chat about.
I may as well begin with this epic shoot of ours from back in April.
I’m so proud of this collection of bridal headpieces and veils. It took months of research and bucket loads of effort to create, especially having just returned to work from maternity leave and juggling that work life balance…which I now realise doesn’t even exist! So the shoot needed to be epic.
First port of call was always going to be Laura J Curran Photography. I’ve known Laura for years, she taught me photography at college and we’ve been great mates ever since. She’s been there for all the big events in my life, and continues to be my biggest champion for Blue Meadow Bridal. An hour with her and I’m brimming with ideas and excitement, having her in my creative squad is priceless. So obvs she was going to taking the images. Let’s not forget Pete too…the other face behind the photography brand. Pete has a serious talent when it comes to light, and he’s an absolute hoot.
The gowns were a no brainier for me. Claire at Archive 12 is in a league of her own when it comes to bridal. Her collection of gowns are the dream of every modern, cool bride; the brides that want to break away from stuffy traditions and bring some of their own style into their bridal look. Claire has years of styling experience behind her, so she definitely knows a thing or two about what looks beaut.
The hair and make up geniuses were Catherine Hairbinson Hair and Jennifer Ireland MUA. Two women I’ve known and admired for a while now and also two new mums like me! Working with these two is always a dream, years of experience behind them, experts at what they do, and no contouring or OTT backcombing here people! Just stunning, contemporary bridal hair and make up. Also, two babes I’m lucky to call Blue Meadow Brides as well! Jennifer’s headpiece was so iconic it had to be part of this collection.
And then there was Hollie and Rachel from The Rosehip and Berry. Two floral artists that we are so lucky to have on this island. Like seriously, I can’t even cope with these two. I told Hollie I’d like a fancy weed, like it just happened to grow there…and they delivered more than I could ever have dreamed off. Top of their game always, constantly pushing the boundaries and creating beauty that every couple deserves on their wedding day. Take a little jook at their Instagram and look at that Gyp ceiling they created….mind blown.
